DECEMBER 9 - 13

8TH ACADEMIC ALGEBRA - We will have a quiz on finding Slope on Tuesday.  We will then move on to sections 3.3 and 3.4 for the rest of the week.


ACADEMIC GEOMETRY - We will have a test on Monday on chapter 4.  We will then move in to chapter 5, covering sections 5.1 and 5.2 this week.


BASIC GEOMETRY - We will have a quiz on SSS, SAS, ASA, AAS, HL on Tuesday.  We will then move on to section 4.6 on Wednesday and Thursday.  After that, we will start to review for a chapter 4 test which will be next Tuesday or Wednesday. 

NOVEMBER 18-22

8TH ACADEMIC ALGEBRA - This week we are finishing up chapter 2.  We will have our 100 point, chapter 2 test later this week.  We will then move into chapter 3. 


ACADEMIC GEOMETRY - This week we will be working on sections 4.4 and 4.5.  We will be solving proofs involving SSS, SAS, ASA, AAS, HL. 


BASIC GEOMETRY - We will do section 4.3 on Monday.  We will review on Tuesday for a quiz.  We will have a quiz on Wednesday covering sections 4.1-4.3.  We will then move on to section 4.4 SSS, and SAS. 

NOVEMBER 11 - 15

8TH ACADEMIC ALGEBRA - This week we will continue working on solving equations with variable on both sides of the equation.  We will have worksheets every day.  We will have a quiz on Friday covering sections 2.1 -2.4, all the different equations we have covered in the last few weeks. 


ACADEMIC GEOMETRY - This week we will be working on sections 4.3-4.4, which includes learning how to set up and solve proofs. 


BASIC GEOMETRY - This week we will be working on sections 4.2 and 4.3.  Our next quiz will be next week covering 4.1-4.3

NOVEMBER 4 - 8

8TH ACADEMIC ALGEBRA - This week we will have a quiz on Wednesday, covering sections 2.1-2.3.  We will then move on to section 2.4 on Thursday and Friday.


ACADEMIC GEOMETRY - We will have a quiz on sections 4.1-4.2 on either Wednesday or Thursday or this week.  We will then move on to section 4.3.


BASIC GEOMETRY - We will have our chapter 3 test on Monday.  We will then work on sections 4.1 - 4.2 for the remainder of the week. 

OCT 28 - NOV 1

8TH ACADEMIC ALGEBRA - We will have a quiz to start the 2nd marking period on Wednesday.  It will cover sections 2.1 - 2.2.  We will then move on to section 2.3 after the quiz. 


ACADEMIC GEOEMTRY - Monday we will work on section 3.5, which will finish the chapter for us.  We will review the chapter for 2 days, then we will have our first test of the 2nd marking period on Thursday on Chapter 3. 



BASIC GEOMETRY - This week we are working on section 3.2 and 3.3.  We will have a chapter test next Monday. 

OCTOBER 21-25

8TH ACADEMIC ALGEBRA - This week we are working on chapter 2, Solving One-Step equations.  We will then move on to section 2.2, Two-Step equations. 


ACADEMIC GEOMETRY - This week we are reviewing sections 3.1 and 3.2.  We will then do section 3.3   Our next quiz will be Friday on sections 3.1-3.3


BASIC GEOMETRY - This week we will be working on sections 3.1 and 3.2  Our next quiz will be Friday on sections 3.1-3.2. 

OCTOBER 15-18

8TH ACADEMIC ALGEBRA - We will be having our chapter 1 test this week, Thursday or Friday.  This will be the last test of the 1st Marking Period.  After the test, we will move into chapter 2, solving equations.  


ACADEMIC GEOMETRY - This week we are reviewing sections 3.1 and 3.2.  We will then move into section 3.3.  Our next quiz will be next week covering sections 3.1-3.3.  This will be the last quiz of the 1st Marking Period. 


BASIC GEOMETRY -  This week we will be working on sections 3.1 and 3.2.  Our quiz on those sections will be next week, and it will be the last quiz of the 1st Marking Period. 

OCTOBER 7 - 10

8TH ACADEMIC ALGEBRA - This week we are working on sections 1.8 and 1.9.  We will finish chapter 1 early next week.  Our chapter 1 test, worth 100 points will be near the end of next week. 


ACADEMIC GEOMETRY - We will have our chapter 1 test on Monday.  We will then move in to chapter 3 and do sections 3.1 -3.2 this week. 


BASIC GEOMETRY - We will review the chapter on Monday and Tuesday.  Our chapter 1 test will be on Wednesday.  We will then move on to chapter 3, section 3.1 

SEPTEMBER 30 - OCTOBER 4

8TH ACADEMIC ALGEBRA -  This week we are working on sections 1.6 and 1.7.  We will have our next quiz, on those sections, the end of this week. 


ACADEMIC GEOMETRY - We will have a quiz on Tuesday on section 1.5.  We will then do section 1.5 on Wednesday.  After that we are finished chapter 1.  We will review the chapter for a couple days then have our chapter 1 test. 


BASIC GEOMETRTY -  We will finish section 1.5 on Monday, then do section 1.6 on Tuesday and Wednesday.  We will have our chapter 1 test early next week. 

SEPTEMBER 23-27

8TH ACADEMIC AGLEBRA - There will be a 100 point test on sections 1.1-1.5 later this week.  After that, we will move on to section 1.7, Scientific Notation. 


ACADEMIC GEOMETRY - We will have a quiz on sections 1.1-1.4 on Monday.  We will spend the rest of the week on section 1.5.  


BASIC GEOMETRY - We will have a quiz on sections 1.1-1.4 on Wednesday.  We will then move on to section 1.5  

SEPTEMBER 16 - 20

8TH ACADEMIC AGLEBRA -  Monday and Tuesday we will be working on section 1.4 and reviewing 1.1-1.4.  We will have a quiz on sections 1.1-1.4 on either Wednesday or Thursday.  We will then move on to section 1.5. 

ACADEMIC GEOMETRY - This week we are working on section 1.4, algebra problems, and protractor use.  Our next quiz will be either this Friday or next Monday. 


BASIC GEOMETRY - Monday is review of the Distance and Midpoint formulas.  We will then move on to section 1.4 for the rest of the week.  Our next quiz will be next week. 

SEPTEMBER 9 - 13

8TH ACADEMIC ALGEBRA - There will be a quiz on Tuesday on sections 1.1-1.2 and other review material covered this year.  We will then move on to section 1.3 for the rest of the week. 

ACADEMIC GEOMETRY - We will have our first quiz on Monday on sections 1.1-1.2.  We will then move on to sections 1.3 and 1.4 during the rest of the week. 

BASIC GEOMETRY - We will have our first quiz on Tuesday on sections 1.1-1.2.  We will then work on section 1.3 for the rest of the week. 

SEP 3 - SEP 6

8TH ACADEMIC ALGEBRA - This week we are still reviewing the rules for Integers.  We will also start sections 1.1 in the book and continue to section 1.2.  We will have our first quiz either Friday or Monday, on Order of Operations, Integers, Sections 1.1-1.2


ACADEMIC GEOMETRY - This week we will start section 1.2.  We will review sections 1.1-1.2 and have our first quiz either the end of this week or early next week. 


BASIC GEOMETRY - This week we will start section 1.2.  We will review sections 1.1-1.2 and have our first quiz either the end of this week or early next week. 

AUGUST 26-30

8TH ACADEMIC ALGEBRA - Monday and Tuesday we are welcoming the students back, going over rules and expectations. We will start our first assignment on Wednesday.  We will have review worksheets for Order of Operations and Integers.

MAY 20 - JUNE 4

8TH ACADEMIC ALGEBRA - On Tuesday, we will have our test on chapter 7.  After that, we will not be starting any new material.  We will start to review things we have done throughout the year.  Our final exam will be either May 30, or May 31st. 


ACADEMIC GEOMETRY - We will have our chapter 10 test on Wednesday.  After that, we will start to prepare for our final exam.  The final exam will be either May 30, or May 31.


BASIC GEOMETRY - This week we will be working on volumes of different shapes.  We will have a volume quiz on Friday.  We will then start to prepare for our final exam, which will be either May 30, or May 31. 

WEEK OF MAY 6 - MAY 10

8TH ACADEMIC GEOMETRY - We will have our chapter 9 test on Wednesday. 
We will then move back to chapter 7.  Our chapter 7 quiz/test will be next week. 


ACADEMIC GEOMETRY - This week we are working on sections 10.1-10.2.  We will have a quiz on those sections on Friday.  


BASIC GEOMETRY - This week we are working on ratios and proportions.  Next week we will move on to similar triangles.  Our next quiz will be next week on sections 10.1-10.4

WEEK OF APRIL 29-MAY 3

8TH ACADEMIC ALGEBRA - Due to the PSSA's, the only day we have class this week will be Wednesday.  We will work on section 9.4.  We will then have a test on sections 9.1-9.4 early next week. 


ACADEMIC GEOMETRY - This week we will be working on sections 10.1-10.2.  Our next quiz will cover those sections. 


BASIC GEOMETRY - This week we are finishing chapter 9.  We will have our chapter 9 test either Thursday or Friday. 

WEEK OF APRIL 22-26

8TH ACADEMIC ALGEBRA - This week we are continuing our review for the PSSA's which will start again next week. 


ACADEMIC GEOMETRY - This week we are reviewing chapter 8 for our test which will be either Thursday or Friday.


BASIC GEOMETRY -  This week we are working on finding areas of different polygons.  We will have our next quiz on either Friday or next Monday. 

WEEK OF APRIL 15 - 18

8TH ACADEMIC ALGEBRA - This week the students have started their ELA PSSA's.  We will meet again on Thursday and again all next week before the Math PSSA's.  We will review for the PSSA's during those six days. 


ACADEMIC GEOMETRY - This week we are reviewing all of our Trigonometry problems.  We will have our Trig quiz on Thursday.  Our Chapter test will be next week. 


BASIC GEOMETRY - We will have a quiz on Wednesday on Area and Perimeter.  On Thursday we will start Area of Triangles.

WEEK OF APRIL 8-12

8TH ACADEMIC GEOMETRY - There is a quiz on chapters 6 and 8 on Monday.  We will then start chapter 9.  Our test on chapter 9 may be next week after the ELA PSSA's. 


ACADEMIC GEOMETRY - We are having a quiz on Special Right Triangles and the Pythagorean Theorem on Tuesday.  We will then start working on section 8.4 for the next week.  Students will need a scientific calculator.


BASIC GEOMETRY - We will start the week reviewing for our chapter 10 test.  The test will be Wednesday.  We will then move on to chapter 11 on Thursday.  

WEEK OF MARCH 25-29

8TH ACADEMIC ALGEBRA -  This week we are finishing up chapter 6.  We will be moving into chapter 7.  We will also be mixing in PSSA review in the next few weeks.  Our next test will be next week, after the start of the 4th marking period. 


ACADEMIC GEOMETRY - This week we will be reviewing Geometric Mean, and Simplifying Radicals.  We may have our quiz on those two topics either the end of this week, or early next week. 


BASIC GEOMETRY - This week we area working on sections 10.1 and 10.2, Circle and Parts of Circles.  Our next quiz should be next week to start the 4th marking period. 

WEEK OF MARCH 18-22

8TH ACADEMIC ALGEBRA - This week we are starting chapter 6 - Transformations.  We will be working on sections 6.1 - 6.4.  We will also be mixing in PSSA review worksheets daily. 


ACADEMIC GEOMETRY - This week we are starting chapter 8.  We will Simplifying Radicals for the first 3 days. We will then move on to section 8.1 - Geometric Mean.


BASIC GEOMETRY - This week we will have a quiz on the Pythagorean Theorem and Simplifying Radicals.  The quiz will be Wednesday.  We will then move on to chapter 10 - Circles. 

WEEK OF MARCH 11-15

8TH ACADEMIC ALGEBRA - This week we are working on the Pythagorean Theorem and the Distance Formula.  We will have a quiz on sections 5.5-5.7 by the end of the week. 


ACADEMIC GEOMETRY -  This week we are working on sections 7.1-7.3.  We will have a quiz on Friday or Monday on those sections. 


BASIC GEOMETRY - We had our chapter test on Monday.  This week we will start working on Simplifying Radicals and then into the Pythagorean Theorem. 

WEEK OF MARCH 4-8

8TH ACADEMIC ALGEBRA - Due to the weather, our chapter 4 test will now be on Wednesday.  Students should use their practice test as a study guide.  We will then move in to chapter 5 and start with the Pythagorean Theorem. 


ACADEMIC GEOEMTRY -  Due to the weather, our chapter 6 test will be Tuesday.  We will then move in to chapter 7.  Our next quiz will cover sections 7.1-7.3. 



BASIC GEOMETRY - On Tuesday we will start the section on Properties of Trapezoids.  We will then review for a few days all of chapter 6.  Our chapter 6 test will either be at the end of this week or the beginning of next week. 

WEEK OF FEBRUARY 25 - MARCH 1

8TH ACADEMIC ALGEBRA - This week we are finishing chapter 4.  We will review and will have 2 different practice tests on the chapter.  The chapter 4 test will be next Monday. 


ACADEMIC GEOMETRY - This week we finished up chapter 6 and we will have our chapter 6 test on Friday. 


BASIC GEOMETRY -  This week we are working on Properties of Parallelograms.  We are reviewing 4 shapes and we will have a quiz on Thursday.  We will then finish the chapter Friday and review for a chapter 6 test later next week. 

WEEK OF FEBRUARY 18-22

8TH ACADEMIC ALGEBRA - On Tuesday we will work on section 4.4.  We will then review sections 4.1-4.4 and have a quiz on those sections later this week.  It will depend on the weather we get on Wednesday into Thursday. 


ACADEMID GEOMETRY - We will have a quiz on Parallelograms on Tuesday.  We will then work on section 6.6 for a couple of days then start a chapter review for a test which will be next week.  


BASIC GEOMETRY - This week we will be working on sections 6.4 and 6.5.  We will then review for a couple of days.  Our next quiz (weather permitting) will be either the end of this week or early next week on sections 6.2-6.5

8TH ACADEMIC ALGEBRA - This week we are working on section 3.8, which will finish up chapter 3.  We will have a chapter test early next week, Weather Permitting!!!


ACADEMIC GEOMETRY - We will be reviewing section 6.1.  Our next quiz, which will cover parts of chapter 5 and section 6.1 will be either Friday or Monday, Weather Permitting!!!

BASIC GEOMETRY - We will be starting section 6.1 and will work on that section for the next few days.  Our next quiz will be next week.

8TH ACADEMIC ALGEBRA - This week we will be working on sections 3.7-3.8, Solving Systems of Equations.  We will then be finished with chapter 3 and will have a test next week to start the 3rd marking period.

This week, all classes are reviewing material learned during the first half of the school year.  All classes will have a mid year test covering this material.  The test will take place either Friday Jan 11 or Monday Jan 14.  The marking period ends Wednesday January 16.
